Sometimes selling books is REALLY DIFFICULT. Not because nobody wants to buy them, but because I don’t want to get rid of them!
For instance, I recently sold my copy of Wicked Plants via Half.com, and I had to argue with myself for three days about actually sending it to the buyer. Why?
1. It matches Wicked Bugs (affiliate link – more info), which I also have (as of yet unread). The two of them together look so pretty on the shelf!
2. It’s a nice copy! The shape is nice, the paper is nice, the ink and art and writing is nice. I like it!
3. It’s a good book! See my review? I really enjoyed it.
I finally managed to convince myself that a) I could probably get two or maybe even three new books for what I’m getting for Wicked Plants, b) I’m probably never gonna reread Wicked Plants so keeping it on my shelf just to look nice is pointless (and taking up valuable real estate), and c) once I read Wicked Bugs I could sell that, too, and then I wouldn’t have to worry about breaking up the set. Plus secret option d) I could always re-buy a copy if I really needed to.
So I sent it, and I’m waiting for my money to be deposited, and I’m thinking of what books to get with that money. But it was hard!
Do you ever find it tough to get rid of books?
