Happy blogoversary to meeeee

Howdy! It’s been a while, hasn’t it? I’m still plowing through library school and two jobs and being tired almost all the time, but I DO still want to blog– although probably not in the same way I’ve blogged for the past seven years.

Yes, y’all, it’s my 7th blogoversary this month! I’ve gone from starting on WordPress.com under an entirely different name during a boring undergrad semester to being self-hosted today during a not-boring, super hectic grad school semester. That’s 1,905 posts, 7,919 comments, and about 1400 books read!

I may not have the energy for long, individual book reviews nowadays, and I may not even be reading for fun much, but I AM doing interesting things with books and libraries and readers and I still like blogging. So I’m gonna stick with it!

Right now the plan is trying for monthly(ish) round-up posts for books I’ve read, plus other book-related posts whenever I come up with them. Next semester I’m also taking one less class, so hopefully I won’t be AS tired and will maybe even feel like typing up for-fun posts, too! Yay!

Thanks so much for sticking with me these past 7 years, and I hope you’ll stick with me for the future however-many years, too. I miss talking with y’all, so if you ever want to chat about books or life or whatever, please leave a comment, or tweet me, or even email!

me cat, you dog.
I feel this describes our relationship pretty well.

For now: what’s a great book you’ve read recently? Mine’s Newt’s Emerald, Garth Nix’s fantasy love letter to Georgette Heyer’s romances. It’s basically exactly what you’d expect, except with pirates!

  1. Happy blogiversary, Anastasia!! I would definitely prefer if you did not quit blogging so do the best you can with the limited time you have. 😉
I need to get Newt’s Emerald. It looks fun! I’m reading a Walter Moers book. I wish more people read him but I think that whole “translated from German” thing freaks a lot of readers out.

  2. It’s youuuuuu! Happy anniversary, beautiful friend! As always, I wish you many happy returns of the day.

With you being gone I never know what you have read or not read yet! I loooooved Carry On, as well as Patrick Ness’s new books, and those are I guess the books I’ve been most excited about lately. I’m reading a book about the daycare Satanic Panic in the 1980s, which is a TOPIC I’m super interested in, but the book is inadequately footnoted and it’s driving me crazy.
