Hiya! I’m Anastasia, and this is my blog. I’m a 25-year-old lady who graduated from college with a major in English (and a minor in medieval studies). I moved to southern California with my family about a year ago– which means I’m closer to major book events! Yay! And, of course, all the other wonderful things California has to offer. Beaches! Palm trees! People who wander around in weird outfits!

Right now I’m working as a data entry person, wishing I had more bookshelves, and trying to visit Disneyland at least once a week. Life is pretty good, yup.

The blog

I started Here There Be Books in November 2008, almost five years ago! Back then all I cared about was having a place to keep my book meme posts, but nowadays I do basically anything BUT memes. How times change, eh? (Another example of change: HTBB used to be called Birdbrain(ed) Book Blog! After much internal debate, I finally changed it to Here There Be Books on May 5, 2013. More about that here.)

I’m an eclectic reader so anything’s up for grabs, really, but I tend to navigate more towards sci-fi/fantasy books (also biographies/memoirs). Besides reviews, you can also find blogging tips and tricks for both new and experienced bloggers, book lists, photos of things that I think are interesting, an occasional review and/or giveaway, and whatever else I think might be cool to post.

As of May 2013, Here There Be Books has about 300 RSS subscribers and over 800 Twitter followers. It gets ~200 views a day, if I’m looking at this tracker thingy correctly.
