Bloggiesta Update: Saturday

Total: 7/28 reviews written (two were knocked off simply because I don’t think I have anything to say about them). So I didn’t make it to my goal, but I nearly finished off all of May’s reviews and made a start on June’s, so I’m not disappointed.

I did some mini-challenges, too!
1. Clean Up Your Feedreader @ The Book Lady’s Blog
Deleted 30-ish blogs. I am now subscribed to a nice round 100!
Reorganized my folders. I think it’s much more manageable now.
Got my To Read posts down from ~200 to 2. Huzzah!

2. Rainy Day Post @ Beth Fish Reads
Wrote a list post for sometime in the future. I want it to be a surprise, so I’m not gonna say what it is.

3. Favicons & Gravatars @ Hey Lady! Whatcha Readin’?
I made a decent-ish favicon but I’m not entirely sure it’s shown up yet. Can anyone else see it? (And figure out what it is?)
Thought I already had a Gravatar but, er, it was attached to a different email address and wasn’t showing up! Should be doing so now, hopefully.

4. Anchor Text @ GalleySmith
Learned something about anchor text and Google that I didn’t know before. I’ll have to work on making mine better!

5. Grade Your Blog @ Bookish Ruth
The first time I got my blog graded at Website Grader, my score was 93/100. It’s not a bad score, but it’s still kind of embarrassing. So I fiddled with some things and now my score is 94! Uh. Shoot.

What did you accomplish for Bloggiesta?

  1. Wow, great job, and a grade of 93/94 is nothing to sniff at! There are other blogs out there that I think are good and don’t have a grade anywhere near that 🙂 I remember how bad (really bad) my grade was the first time I used that site, but I did some tweaking and over time (my blog isn’t very old, either) did managed to make significant strides.

BTW, I can’t see your favicon, all I see is the WordPress logo. I’m using Firefox, so I don’t know if that has anything to do with it. Keep up the good work!

  2. Kim

I don’t see your favicon in Firefox either. I remember mine took awhile to show up when I first made it though, so it might just be slow.

I got five blog posts written over Bloggiesta, plus cleaned out my Google Reader. I’m going to extend Bloggiesta into today a little bit since I didn’t get started until very late on Friday. So I might get another 2-3 posts written, we’ll see.

Congrats on everything you got done!

  3. Shanra

You’ve written so many reviews today, I think you can be forgiven for not getting to your goal. Congratulations on all you got done!

I can’t see the favicon either, but I do know the WordPress ones seem to be quite fickle (on Firefox). I had a time where mine would show up and disappear on me for a while. It seems to be settled now, so hopefully that’s what yours is going through!

    • Well, I was hoping for somewhere around 95 (or up). I think I was knocked down a point or so for not having meta tags (WordPress doesn’t support them) and having too many images (ha!), so I’m not worried about it any more. I like my 94, lol. 😀
