Wednesday: Cocktails For Three by Madeline Wickham, from PaperbackSwap. I’ve recently become addicted to Wickham’s rather wonderful romances (though I do love her Sophie Kinsella books as well), so I’m happy this showed up.
Sunday (actually Tuesday-Saturday, I just didn’t pick up my packages ’til then. Ha!): Peeps by Scott Westerfeld, from half.com. I started reading this today; I wanted to try something else of his after reading the Uglies trilogy, and it’s going well so far. I’ve also ordered the first book of the Midnighters series, which should hopefully be here before January.
Cart and Cwidder by Diana Wynne Jones, from Amazon (independent merchant). The first book of the Dalemark quartet; I’ve got the fourth already, now I just need to work on getting the others. It’s a little slow-going because I want them to be in all the same format and same edition, plus be in decent condition for a good price. (Practically impossible, it seems.) But at least now I can start reading the series, eh?
Today: Wizard’s First Rule by Terry Goodkind, borrowed from a friend. She recommended it to me and offered to let me borrow her copy, and since I never turn down an offer to borrow a book (makes me feel guilty, mostly because I never let anyone borrow one of mine), I agreed. It’s much bigger than I thought it’d be (mass market paperback = ~800 pages, wow!), so I think I’ll save it for winter break.
What came into your house this week? Anything you feel particularly excited about?
