Monthly Review (August 2009)

This month went by really quickly, though not at quickly as June and July did. Thank goodness for that; classes started last week for me and I’ve been busy trying to keep up with my reading there, working at my library (with more hours than I’ve ever worked before), collecting postcards, and writing a book review here and there. Plus last weekend was Bubonicon 41 (write-up coming soon), and all together I haven’t had much of a rest.

Nevertheless, I’ve managed to put away nearly three books since classes started, and I had a pretty good sized hunk of reading done before that. If I spread out my reviews, I think I have enough to last until fall break, maybe (in October). Maybe to make up for less reviews, I’ll be writing other, non-review posts! I keep thinking of all these nifty things I want to discuss with people, but the topics fly out of my head by the time I get to a computer. Boo!

Anyway, altogether I think this has been a pretty successful month for me. I changed my layout to something a little more colorful (including a new banner), I reorganized my sidebar and updated my About Me page, and I’m even nearly caught up with my reviews for July! Huzzah!

On the other hand, my posts are taking way too long to show up in my Google Reader, and I’m not sure why. Frustrating! How quickly are they showing up for you guys?

But now, time for some stats. I’m trying something new this time, mostly so I’m not spending two hours formatting this thing.

Impressive, again. You read a ton! I didn’t finish as many books in August because I was reading Infinite Jest, but I still think have a good backlog of reviews that I’ll have one review a week until I can finish more books to review. I cannot believe school is starting already, where did summer go?
