Monthly Wrap-Up (November 2013)

This month may not have been all that awesome for reading, but it was awesome for BUYING BOOKS! Kobo had(/has) some really good coupons and I splurged. I splurged a LOT. I ended up getting over 100 books, so I’m set for the next few years, at LEAST! I mostly got books that were on my wishlist, or that were by favorite authors (Jessica Day George!), and anyway I’m really excited to have so many new things to read.

December, therefore, shall be the month of Reading Books from Mount eTBR! (With a few side trips to Mount Review Books.) I’d like to read at least 10 of my new ebooks by the end of the month. Wish me luck!

In other news, I’ve finally caught up on my reviews! All of them but two (or three), actually! I went easy on myself and got rid of the ones which were rereads (and where I had nothing new to say) and a few DNF’d books which were just bleh. I stuck my nose to my computer and wrote about 10 reviews last weekend– the posts from this week are from that! Yay!

I’ve also adjusted by reading goal from 250 back down to 200. As I’m writing this, I’ve got 15 books to go. As long as whatever happened in November doesn’t happen again, I think I should be able to make it!

How was your November?

P.S. I’m turned on the snow plugin thing! Woohoo! Not that you’re really be able to see it…

Reviews

Read

182. The Sylvia Game – Vivian Alcock *
183. Power of Three – Diana Wynne Jones *
184. Kitchen Confidential – Anthony Bourdain e*
185. Have His Carcase – Dorothy L. Sayers e

Favorite book read: Have His Carcase (which I keep thinking of as “car case.” Awkward.)

This is the LEAST amount of books I’ve read since I started blogging. Also, three of them are rereads! I almost can’t believe it– until I remember that, technically, I was reading like 7 books at once. I just…didn’t finish many of them. Woo.

What was the best book you read in November?

Non-Review Posts

I found my ‘Nsync CD from 10+ years ago, and it’s giving me huge flashbacks to when I was 12 and their Pop music video scandalized me. Awwww, lookit their bb faces:

Ashley from Nose Graze has started a book blogger directory/social thingy site! I think it’ll be like the book blog Ning used to be: fun and interactive and hopefully not full of advertisements for book giveaways. Check it out!

    1. Aw. 🙁 (You can see the snow if you stare at a book cover for a little bit! Kind of.)

I KNOW. I think I made up for all the times I DIDN’T buy a book, honestly. YAY NEW BOOKS!
