Library Loot is a weekly meme hosted by Eva and Marg that encourage bloggers to talk about what books they’ve gotten from their library during the week. Anyone can participate any time during the week, so feel free to write up your own post and link it using Eva’s (or Marg’s) Mr Linky!
My library (where I work) is closing for about a week starting on the 24th of this month, and I’ve been irrationally panicking about not having enough books to read with me during that time. It’s stupid, especially since I have so many TBR books I bought, but I can’t help hording books anyway.
Here’s what I’ve brought home with me so far. Click on the book cover to go to its Amazon page.
The Yolen books I found while looking around the fairy tales section of my library. 😀 Despereaux I got because I’ve heard good things about it, and even if the movie bored me to tears I thought it might be fun. The Barrytown trilogy interested me because The Commitments is one of my favorite movies and I spotted it on the shelf Wednesday. WIW is for the readalong in January (I may get a head start…). Zorro was pushed onto me by the same coworker that told me to read The Mark of Zorro. And the others I found randomly on the shelves.
I have three more days to get whatever books I want to hold be over the break. I know at least one is going to be a Carl Sagan book– and then maybe I can stop hording. I dread hauling it all back in January! Gah.
Leftover loot: The Wise Woman and Other Stories, The Golden Key and Other Stories, The Gray Wolf and Other Stories, A Touch of Dead, The Vampire Archives, The Crow, Crossing to Paradise, Codex, Hunger, The Charioteer
