Reading Challenge: The Classics Club

The Classics Club

Info: The Classics Club
Date: February 20, 2020 – February 20, 2025
Goal: Read 50 classic books from a self-defined reading list within a 5 year time period. Write corresponding reviews/discussions and link them from the list.

How I built my list: started with the suggested titles from The Big Book List, then went Googling for more. I specifically tried to add books by women, diverse authors, and from non-European countries. Otherwise, I didn’t restrict myself to a specific genre or time period– though I did try to keep to books written before 1995, if I could. A few of the fantasy/scifi picks were from “forgotten classics” lists, which is cool.

  1. Hi Anastasia! I found your blog on the member list of The Classics Club and noticed you are a new member. I just joined this month! Here are books from your list that I have loved: Phantom of the Opera and Rilla of Ingleside. And these are books from your list that are also on my list: Wizard of Oz and Excellent Women. I am really looking forward to both of those.
